COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The Basic NeuroToxin Course is a beginner course offering comprehensive Face and Neck Toxin learning. The morning section begins with sections on beauty, aging processes, anatomy, then leads into facial assessments for Toxin use. The afternoon section teaches comparisons of major Toxins on current market, injection techniques, complications of Toxin use, and ends with discussions of Rule 800 and Colorado requirements to start and run an aesthetic medi spa. The course is meant to set a foundation for students to be comfortable and safe injecting medical grade products after the end of the 2-day course. Students are first screened for DORA (or other state) healthcare licensure, then screened by Dr. Iannotti for appropriateness of said licensure to respective aesthetic field and industry.

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION:

The Basic NeuroToxin Course is a 2-day hybrid learning experience. Day 1 is didactic online. Day 2 is clinical hands-on with models and products. Each course has maximum of 3 students. Each student has two models. Students get to perform and observe on a total of up to 6 models; enhanced learning with repetition.

Day 1 is didactic, will be hosted online in video formatted sections, with interactive sections to show 3 dimensional concepts. The material is presented in spreadsheet, paragraph, illustration and photo learning, each with audio learning to enhance the repetitive nature of learning, visual and audio. Dr. Iannotti also illustrates in the videos on tv and dry eraser board. Day 1 is meant to educate the students on various subjects. Students will need to view the day 1 video more than once and also take good notes to learn the material well. Each section is summarized to simplify the material on day 1 so it is palatable for use on day 2 in the clinical sessions.

Day 2 is a clinical hands-on medi spa experience using human models and FDA approved products for human injection under medical aesthetic conditions under the direct and continuous observation of Dr. Iannotti. No injections occur without Dr. Iannotti’s explicit direct approval and oversight. Day 2 is meant to teach students how to inject into the various facial layers safely and effectively. Day 2 ends with a question, answer group session rather than a formal bubble answer examination. Dr. Iannotti has a strong preference for making students learn/understand/speak their answers verbally rather than fill in bubbles on paper.

By experience, most students will do well. Here and there, some students may struggle for whatever reason. Dr. Iannotti works with the struggling person(s) to understand their needs and how to make them successfully. Approximately 10% of students are advised or require additional training to simply feel more comfortable in this injectable industry. Student are taught that repetition through multiple exposures to learning material (ie 3 times in 24 hours) is best for long term learning and also that using multiple senses (ie visual, auditory, tactile) is best to assist long term learning.

All materials are copyrighted under Dr. Iannotti. The Basic NeuroToxin Course will be offered 1-2 times per month, first/second half. Dr. Iannotti may want to offer a potential student or former student an opportunity to shadow a course without cost, especially on day 2. This is to be decided at this time.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Students learn beauty, aging processes, anatomy, assessment, product comparisons, injection techniques, complications and how to make and run a medi spa.

The details that separate my courses from other competitor courses: -Amount and detail of didactic material available to learn. -Use of proprietary information: I do not copy, paste or pirate other people’s work, so my work is always unique. -My style of teaching, use of repetition, visual and tactile examples, and humor. Keep learning fun.  -Inclusion of the full face and neck for the Toxin course: competitors only allow injections above and around the eyes.  -Direct and continuous MD supervision of all portions of the course without exception. -Inclusion of the full face and neck saves about $1500 per student to avoid another advanced course expense.

Since I started injection training/certifying in Colorado, I have found that about 1/3 of my Basic students have come from other prior paid injector courses that have not sufficiently taught them day 1 didactic or more importantly, day 2 clinical hands-on procedures. This is important, as I find that about 90% of my Basic students go on to inject without complications or problems. About 10% want or require more clinical time to be more comfortable

COURSE TOPICS/UNITS AND DATES

Each Basic NeuroToxin course is 2 days, hybrid learning online and clinical in-person human models. Each Toxin course will be offered 1-2 times per month. Locations will vary around the Front Range. However the quality of the didactic material and the human injection outcomes quality will not vary, those will be remarkably similar site to site. Teaching will start early September 2024. On a monthly basis, the first half of each month will have one Toxin course. The second half of each month may or may not have a Toxin course.

The day 1 didactic course content is always the same: Beauty: 15 minutesAging process: 1 hourAnatomy: 1.5 hourAssessments: 1 hourLunch: 30 minutesProduct comparison: 1 hourInjection techniques: 1 hourComplications: 1 hour Rules and Regulations and other medi spa ownership details: 1 hour. Total day 1 didactic online time: 8 hours including lunch.  The day 2 clinical hands-on learning is based upon students injecting according to day 1 rules and concepts, into models known/unknown to them, for their best results under my direct supervision at all times. Brief overview of clinical injectable neurotoxin protocols, setups: 30 minutes. Student 1, model 1: 1 hourStudent 2, model 2: 1 hourStudent 3, model 3: 1 hourLunch: 30 minutesStudent 1, model 2: 1 hourStudent 2, model 2: 1 hourStudent 3, model 2: 1 hourReview of models, questions, concerns, problems, successes, protocols, Dr. Iannotti verbal exam: 1 hour.

Focus for day 2 injections are the upper face: glabella, forehead, lateral brow, crows feet. Other areas are taught and may or may not be actually injected on models, depending on models. Upper face gets preference, then all other areas. In neurotoxins, I estimate 80% of student future income will come from the upper face. 20% of future revenue will come from midface and lower face/neck.

Group verbal discussions with question/answer occur at the end of each course. I do not prefer written bubble testing. Anyone wanting or requiring more clinical hands-on time is recommended to add more clinical time with me or his/her instructor of choice in their location.I inform all students about their end of course status: Passed with no further basic training recommended, Passed with further basic training recommended, or Not Passed.
