The Additional Open Course is an adjunctive follow-up course offering detailed learning for students already certified in basic Toxins and Fillers who want additional time with injections and or additional detailed education and training on areas outside the Basic Courses Material. The Additional Open course will give a brief concise review of the aging, anatomy, assessment of the area of concern, followed by detailed review of products, complications. Most of the half-day or full day course will be spent doing clinical hands-on training with products and models, focused only on the areas of concern. This Additional Open course is very specific for the needs of each student, in regards to specific toxins, specific fillers and or specific anatomy and procedures. The Additional Open course should be thought of as a “a la carte” course, offering students a variety of options to suit their individual needs. Dr. Iannotti will give a verification and proclamation document to each successful student.

The Additional Open Course is a half-day or full day clinical hands-on learning experience. Each course has 1 student. Each student will use as many models as needed to fulfill their needs. The smaller first part is didactic, will review detailed lecture aging, anatomy, assessment, product and complications material.
The more robust second part is a clinical hands-on experience using human models and FDA products for human injection under medical aesthetic conditions under the direct and continuous observation of Dr. Iannotti. No injections occur without Dr. Iannotti’s explicit direct approval and oversight. Part 2 can be single anatomical area or multiple anatomical areas. Part 2 is more based upon time than either toxin, filler or anatomy.
That is, we can spend as much or as little time in any area as the student wishes; again, the “a la carte” analogy. The course will end with question and answer sections directed specifically towards the material reviewed today. As this is a more advanced course than the basic course, Dr. Iannotti will also address pros/cons of each anatomical area, as well as difference among toxins and fillers used in the procedures of the day. Dr. Iannotti has a strong preference for verbal discussions over written bubble testing to ensure proper understanding.
Dr. Iannotti will work with the struggling person(s) to understand their needs and how to make them successful. At this point, students either decide they enjoy or do not enjoy working on certain parts of the face. They then incorporate those areas into their work or they do not. Student are taught that repetition through multiple exposures to learning material (ie 3 times in 24 hours) is best for long term learning and also that using multiple senses (ie visual, auditory, tactile) is best to assist long term learning.
All materials are copyrighted under Dr. Iannotti. The Additional Open Course will be offered 1-4 times per month. It will be offered outside of Medical Director time and outside of Basic course time. Dr. Iannotti may want to offer a potential student or former student an opportunity to shadow a course. This is to be determined at this time.

The Additional Open Course is designed for any certified and experienced student to have an excellent all-around educational supplementation to advance their aesthetic injectable careers and perform advanced medical aesthetic procedures in a supervised professional environment in a safe and satisfactory manner, with or without a Director on site. Students learn aging, anatomy, assessment, product comparisons, complication and then inject on the toxin, filler of choice and anatomicalareas of choice in human models with FDA approved products under direct MD supervision. Most students will be beginners, new-ish to the industry and only minimally held a syringe/needle in their hand. Much less often, a student will be a highly experienced injector from another country moving to the USA or other advanced healthcare professional.
The details that separate my courses from other competitor courses:
-Amount and detail of didactic material available to learn.
-Use of proprietary information: I do not copy, paste or pirate other people’s work, so my work is always unique.
-My style of teaching, use of repetition, visual and tactile examples, and humor. Keep learning fun.
-Inclusion of the full face and neck for the Toxin course: competitors only allow injections above the eyes.
-Inclusion of the midface for the filler course: competitors only allow injections below the nose.
-Direct and continuous MD supervision of all portions of the course without exception.
Since I started injection training/certifying in Colorado, I have found that about 1/2 of my Basic Course students have come from other prior paid injector courses that have not sufficiently taught them day 1 didactic or more importantly, day 2 clinical hands-on procedures. This is important, as I find that about 90% of my Basic students go on to inject without complications or problems. About 10% want or require more clinical time to be more comfortable. I am expecting a student mix of my prior Basic students and also unknown certified/experienced students to attend my Additional Open Course.

Each Additional Open course is half-day to full day, using clinical in-person human models and products. Each Open course will be offered 1-4 times per month. Locations will vary around the Front Range. However the quality of the didactic material and the human injection outcomes quality will not vary, those will be remarkably similar site to site. Teaching will start early June 2025. On a monthly basis, the first half of each month will have one Open course. The second half of each month may have none, 1, 2, or 3 Open courses. One week of the month I usually have more free time than other weeks of the month due to other obligations as Medical Director or Instructor.
The smaller course content is always the same: aging, anatomy, assessment, product comparison, complications. This part is about 30-60 minutes. The larger course clinical hands-on experience is based upon students injecting according to prior rules and concepts, into models known/unknown to them, for their best results under my direct supervision at all times. This part is about 3 hours. Half-day course is 4 hours, full day course is 8 hours. Question/answer discussions occur at the end of each course. I do not prefer written bubble testing.
Anyone wanting or requiring more clinical hands-on time is recommended to add more clinical time with me or his/her instructor of choice in their location. I inform all students about their end of course status: Students would pass and may or may not be recommended to perform certain procedures based upon complexity, student anxiety, student preference, like/dislike or risks.

Required textbook is: Cosmetic Injection Techniques, Second Edition, Theda C. Kontis and Victor G. Lacombe. I selected this text as it is easy to read, understand and has good visual tables and illustrations.
The injectable products are not included with the Additional Open course. Students may inject as many toxin units or filler syringes as they wish, as long we are staying within the confines of our teaching concepts and rules. The accessory products are included in the course. See Comprehensive list. Students are advised to bring pen/pencil and notebooks to take notes and are given a handout of the copyrighted lecture material. Students may use our models or they may bring their own models.
